A LOOK AT OUR OPENING WEEKEND!
It was a great weekend for Coast Baseball Academy. Our entire organization competed each and every pitch, and we finished the weekend with two wins. Overall, the aggressiveness and competitiveness we displayed throughout the weekend was very impressive. Coast Baseball 13/14u outscored its opponents 11-1 in its first 14 innings behind starters Daniel Kimball and Enzo Sanchez. In addition to a near perfect defense, our pitching staff was helped by our outstanding situational hitting and aggressive base running. Both our 8/9u and 11/12u teams were one defensive play away from solidifying their first victory of the season. This was, however, the first league game for both these teams, and the minor mistakes they made are to be expected. We will continue to make adjustments in practice this week, and be ready to go this weekend!
GAME OF THE WEEK ~ Coast 13/14U starts 2-0 after beating Trabuco 6-0.
Coast Baseball 13/14u cruised to its second victory of the 2015 fall season on Sunday afternoon, beating the Trabuco Colts 6-0 at Trabuco Hills High School. Enzo Sanchez pitched a strong 4.1 innings, and was helped out of a tough 5th inning by Brooks Hogenauer who took the mound with bases loaded and one out. Two pitches later, Brooks got a ground ball double play that Enzo Sanchez and Christian Holm brilliantly executed. In addition to the excellent pitching and defensive performances, Coast Baseball 13/14u used quality at-bats and aggressive base running by Will Potratz, James Loughlin, Brooks Hogenauer, and Adam Kerfoot to cruise to their second victory.

HITTER OF THE WEEK ~ Noah Linder
3-3, 2B, 3B, 2RBI.
Noah Linder finishes a home run shy of the cycle to kick off the fall baseball season. Noah has emerged as one of the leaders, leading by example with his effort and strong work ethic. It is of no surprise to the Coast Baseball staff that Noah had such a great day at the plate. Click here to read more.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK ~ Enzo Sanchez
4.1 innings, 2 Hits, 3 Walks, 3 K's, 0 Earned Runs.
Enzo did an excellent job during his first start of the fall season. He was extremely efficient in throwing strikes, and we played near perfect defense behind him. Enzo's commitment and effort this year has paid off in a big way, as he continues to impress the staff with his versatility. Big things ahead for this kid!
