Late game offensive efforts not enough to overcome defensive errors and unearned runs.

 

It was a close ball game on Friday night versus the Blackhaws. Even though we made a few defensive mistakes that ultimately cost us the ball game, I thought we did a great job of making adjustments and fighting back late in the ball game.  

 

Coast Baseball got a strong performance from starter Dominic DiCarlo, who did a great job of throwing strikes and forcing weak contact. After cruising through the first inning without giving up a run, Coast gave up 5 unearned runs and 2 earned runs in the second inning. Our bats finally woke up in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring 7 runs and cutting our deficit down to 3.
